The Best RPG PC Games

What is the best RPG game for the PC? Some of the best RPG games ever created have been built for the PC, but it is always difficult to narrow down 'the best' in any categories since it is usually a matter of opinion more than fact. There are a host of great RPG games, but here are some suggestions for best online RPG games for the PC.

Fallout 3 is arguably one of the most successful RPG games created in recent years. Although it is available on the PC, it is also available on console platforms. This action role-playing game combines the elements of an RPG with a first-person shooter. The game has won multiple awards and was even named Game of the Year upon its release in 2007/2008.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is also a very solid and genre defining game as well. Reviews for the game make it one of the highest scoring RPGs ever. It won numerous awards, as well as Game of the Year (like Fallout 3). It has spawned follow-up games and is considered to have one of the best RPG PC game plot twists of all time. There is even an MMORPG being developed by BioWare and LucasArts about the setting of this game, called Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is also a very solid game for the PC. The difficulty in choosing this game is that all four of the Elder Scroll games are very solid. It is difficult to pick one in the game series that may be the best RPG game for the PC ever. Morrowind was released in 2002 and sold more than four million copies. It won more than sixty different wards, including Game of the Year (like Fallout 3 and SW:KotOR). It also received equally high reviews similar to the previous two games.

There are a host of other spectacular RPG games for the PC. Some notable games that would be included in a discussion about the best RPG game for the PC are: Final Fantasy VII (or any other Final Fantasy game for that matter), Fable, Diablo, Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate, and Plansecape: Torment. In the end though, the final decision will have to be made by each individual player on what they consider to be the best RPG game for the PC.
